We gather ’round the fire, the fire,
To keep the cold at bay!
The Snows of Valhalla are deep and still,
But we are here to stay!
The night, the night
The longest night
The darkest of the year.
For on this night
The Gods draw close,
to fill us all with cheer.
Yon shade upon the farthest wall
Is Odin, Father All.
He brings us Wisdom from beyond
To last us ’til the Dawn.
The brightest spark from our great hearth
Is Freya filled with grace!
She gathers near
To bring us cheer
To warm this wintry place.
The loving word we speak this night
Is Bragi’s golden mead.
We share our love through His sweet draught
Each others’ souls to feed.
Our booming laughs, and loving toasts,
Great Thor lives in tonight.
His presence here will warm our hearts,
And see us to the light.
